World Animal Day 2024 - Merlo Benelux

An Unforgettable Animal Day: Our Colleagues’ Pets Posing with Merlo Machines

On October 4th, we celebrate World Animal Day, and at De Lille NV-Merlo Benelux, we decided to highlight this day in a unique way this year. For several days, our colleagues brought their beloved pets for a special photoshoot with our Merlo machines. The result is a series of heartwarming photos that show the special bond between our employees, their animals, and our powerful machines.

The Bond Between Colleagues and Their Pets
Animals play an important role in our colleagues' lives. They bring joy, comfort, and sometimes even a touch of humor to the daily routine. During the photoshoots, it was wonderful to see how every colleague proudly introduced their pet to everyone, showing how these animals are an integral part of their lives.

The Idea Behind the Photoshoot
We wanted to highlight the human side of our company by photographing our colleagues' pets alongside the Merlo machines. The idea was to show that behind the power and efficiency of our machines, there is a team of passionate people who do their work with love and care, just as they do for their pets.

Our Merlo Benelux All-Stars
Let’s get to know the animals that made these photoshoots a success. Each animal brought its own personality and charm to the scene, creating unique moments. Since we at Merlo Benelux don’t play favorites, we present our All-Stars in the chronological order of the photoshoots:

Gizmo, Muriel's Jack Russell – Somebody has to take the lead, and for this project, it was the cute Gizmo who took on that challenge. Gizmo is a small, brave female Jack Russell who confidently explored the cabin of a TF27.6. Posing without her master was an exciting adventure for Gizmo, especially with all the distractions around, but she still proudly posed on the platform of a DBM 3500!

Nestor, Emerson’s Glen Terrier – Nestor found the environment and the machines extremely interesting, but staying still wasn't his strong suit. In the cabin of a TF42.7 CS, Nestor managed to show off how his coat contrasted beautifully with the cabin. His inner topmodel fully emerged in the grass, in front of our Cingo M700TD with a large volume self-loading bucket, and on the Roto with his master Emerson. Even getting into the work platform of the Roto was not too much for him, bravo Nestor!

Nuka and Odette, Thuline’s Cavalier King Charles Spaniels – This adorable brother and sister stole everyone’s hearts with their little faces and long ears. Nuka was the adventurous one, daring to sit everywhere and thus showing off the Lithium version of the eWorker, while Odette, a bit more reserved, felt mostly at ease beside her brother. Sitting with her brother in the bucket of a Cingo M500DP or on the platform of the Roto 50.30S Plus with her mistress Thuline was no problem for Odette! Last but not least, the chickens at Thuline's home also did their bit for the project.

Pumba, Milan’s Ferret – Pumba stole the show with his playful and curious nature. He climbed everywhere, through, and under everything he could find, creating hilarious moments during the photoshoot. Timing was crucial, as this little ferret was extremely fast, but we still managed to showcase Pumba with our TF45.11T CS and the Cingo M500DP. Looking down from the roof of an eWorker 25.5-90 was no problem, just like posing in a work platform document tube.

Omer, Didier's Rottweiler – Omer, with his imposing presence, was the perfect match for our Merlo P40.13. Overflowing with enthusiasm, this big teddy bear (mostly) effortlessly executed what his master Didier asked him to do, even lying under a platform! This cheerful and carefree dog enjoyed exploring the site, posing standing, sitting, or lying down with ease, and each time with stunning photos as a result.

Mickey and Toeter, Jasper’s Cats – Safety first, which is why we didn't let any cats come to our site full of distractions. However, to let the cats of our colleagues shine with our "machines," we gave scale Merlo models to our colleagues, resulting in splendid shots. Mickey – Jasper’s gray cat – had no problem posing in front of the camera with our Roto. Toeter, on the other hand, required a bit more agility and trickery, but we also got a beautiful photo of him.

Bob, Koen’s Dachshund – Bob is small but has a big personality and stayed calm in every circumstance. Fearlessly, he proudly took his place on the machine and in the cabin of a TF30.7CS. Completely at ease, Bob looked into the camera with his adorable expression, melting everyone’s hearts. A photo in our Merlo Benelux truck was a must, as his master Koen is often on the road with it!

Illiana, the Schnauzer-Terrier mix, and Luna, the Dachshund, of Maaike and David – Illiana’s photoshoot began in the rain and hailstorm, but that didn’t bother her. Without flinching, she proudly posed next to a black TF38.10. After a while, the sun appeared, and she willingly continued posing with and without her master David on a Roto 50.26. Then it was Luna’s turn, who by her size perfectly matched our Cingo M700TD with high-tipping bucket. In the bucket, or beside the engine, it didn’t matter to Luna: she was just as adorable everywhere!

Bailey, Yentel’s Pomeranian-Keeshond mix – Adorable and fluffy, Bailey immediately won the hearts of our colleagues with her charming appearance. At first, with 300% energy, she neither sat nor stood still near the P27.6, but thankfully, her masters helped manage everything. Little by little, she started to show her best profile near our machines and even posed very nicely at the back of a P30.7!

Christophe’s Zoo – We wanted to include as many different animals as possible in our project, and our colleague Christophe understood this well! With his Merlo miniatures, he allowed his entire “zoo” to be featured in front of the lens: the cats Belle, Zwieber, and Bijou, the dwarf rabbit Odil, the chicken Meneertje Tok, as well as the turtle Donatello were all beautifully photographed with our mini Merlo. Thank you, Christophe!

Mats, Fabrice’s Terrier mix – No photoshoot was as quick as Mats’. This athlete jumped effortlessly into the cabin and listened perfectly to his master Fabrice. Sitting on the machine, standing, or even lying down near the TF35.7CS? No problem for Mats, who attentively and enthusiastically executed everything Fabrice asked, a real pleasure to watch.

Sky, Milan’s Chow Chow – Sky did honor to his breed and stole the show with us. A bit too large to be placed on the machine (40 kg of fluff doesn’t easily get positioned up high), so for Sky, it was mainly ground work near our TF35.11TT. Contrary to what his master Milan expected, Sky accepted everything and sat or lay down as requested. When he finally sprawled out completely on his side, he clearly signaled the end of the shoot: "the Sky is the limit".

Billie, Stijn’s Border Collie – Enthusiastic Billie came to us to highlight the TF42.7CS 136. Since Billie is our neighbouring dog, the Merlo machines and surroundings were no surprise to him. Clearly at ease, he sat and lay down in front of, next to and on the TF42.7CS 136, where he even played hide-and-seek at one point. Can you find him in all the photos?

Tilly, Bruno’s Border Collie – Sweet Tilly quickly felt at ease with the machines, so it was no problem at all to get her to adopt a wide variety of photo poses. Like a true professional, she tested the radio control of a Roto 50.26S, the platform of a Cingo M12.3 as well as the cab seat of a Tre Emme MM250X. The result of the tests? (Merlo) green light from Tilly!

Toby, Sandy’s Pinscher – This Golden Oldie was the last dog to get in front of the lens with us, and did a fantastic job. Given his compact size, we had went all the way imagining places to put Toby on. Toby stayed put for the photo on all the places we put him, yes even on a giant tyre of the Tre Emme MM250X. A first: Toby was the only one willing to pose in a big scoop bucket so we could show this accessory too, top!

A Memorable World Animal Day
The photoshoots highlighted not only the power of our Merlo machines but also the love and devotion our colleagues feel for their animals. It was a unique, warm, and fun experience. At Merlo Benelux, we believe in the importance of a balance between work and play, and this celebration is proof of that. We are proud of our team and their four-legged friends, and we will long remember these moments.
